Yale Law School awards full-tuition scholarships to eligible J.D. students with significant financial need through the Soledad 92 and Robert Hurst Horizon Scholarship Program.
We do not utilize a GPA or standardized test score cutoff of any kind in our review process. Every year applicants from all backgrounds and with scores in all ranges are admitted to Yale Law School. The only guarantee you will not be admitted is if you do not apply, and we take seriously every application we receive.
Securing a full-ride scholarship to law school is highly competitive, with typically less than 5% of law students receiving complete tuition coverage. These scholarships are usually merit-based, requiring exceptional LSAT scores (typically in the 170+ range) and undergraduate GPAs (3.8+).
Hurst Horizon Scholarships will be awarded to students whose family income is up to 200% of the federal poverty guidelines and whose assets are below $150,000. Students who meet the financial requirements will automatically receive a scholarship that will fully cover the cost of tuition, fees, and health insurance.
Applicants must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.3 at the time they apply and must be 18 years old by the time the program begins. Please note that if you are pursuing or have completed a graduate degree, you must still meet the undergraduate GPA requirement (regardless of your graduate GPA).
