Why is Northern Tier Bissett closed?

Northern Expeditions Canoe Base is currently closed for the foreseeable future prior to the 2023 season; all participants with expeditions planned from Bissett received an email that the closure of the local EMS unit forced closure of the base to comply with BSA camping requirements.

What is the Northern Tier?

Northern Tier provides all trail and base meals, aluminum canoes, packs, tents, cooking gear, and communication equipment. We also provide trained staff (i.e., interpreter) to assist your crew in having a great Scouting experience with a fun trip appropriate to the experience and abilities of your crew.

When did the Northern Tier open?

Northern Tier is the Scouting Americas oldest National High Adventure program, outfitting Scout groups for canoe trips since the summer of 1923.
