The minimum standard for entry to the Sixth Form is six GCSE subjects at grade 7 although, with the competition for places, the standard is likely to be considerably higher.
Many 6th forms will let you into if you dont quite meet all your grades, however that doesnt mean you get onto the courses you applied for if one of the required grades for the course is an issue - you may end up doing different courses.
*The minimum required for entry into the Sixth Form will be seven passes in relevant GCSE subjects at grades A* to C with at least four passes at grade B (English Examination Board Equivalent 6) or better. Relevant subjects will include no more than one Short Course GCSE and excluding Learning for Life and Work.
The minimum requirement for external candidates to gain admission into the Sixth Form is six full course GCSE or IGCSE passes at grade A* or 8/9, to include the chosen or related Sixth Form subjects.
