Eligibility for Title IV Aid: To qualify for Title IV aid, students must demonstrate financial need, be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and meet other criteria including satisfactory academic progress.
If you do not authorize WM to apply excess federal Title IV financial aid to all non-institutional charges, then Title IV aid will only pay current tuition, fees, food and housing. Other current-term charges, such as library fines and health insurance, will remain unpaid.
If you authorize title iv, you give them permission to pay tuition and anything else on your account. If you dont, they can still use it for tuition, but they will refund you the remainder. You will still have to pay the remaining charges on your account. There really arent many reasons NOT to sign the title iv.
What is a Title IV authorization? Title IV authorization is the permission that students grant to schools to use their federal financial aid funds for costs other than tuition and fees. These funds are called Federal Title IV funds. What are Federal Title IV funds?
The amount of assistance you have earned is determined up to the point of withdrawal. For example, if you completed 30 percent of the semester, you earned 30 percent of the assistance you were originally scheduled to receive. If you received more assistance than you earned, you must repay the excess funds.
