Healthy Aging Grants aim to address social determinants of health, foster an improved quality of life for older Ohioans, enabling them to remain in their homes and stay connected to their communities, preserve their personal assets, and promote a healthy, independent, active lifestyle.
Eligibility. To be eligible, individuals must: Be a Clinton County resident age 65+ OR a Butler, Hamilton or Warren County resident age 60+ Require help with certain activities of daily living (ADLs and IADLs) such as bathing, cooking, transportation, etc.
Established through House Bill 33 of the 135th General Assembly and administered by the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA), the Healthy Aging Grants program is providing $40 million in support of local aging services focused on helping Ohioans ages 60 and older stay healthy, live longer, and maintain their independence.
Guided by core principles of elder justice and equity, Ohios 2023-2026 State Plan on Aging focuses on addressing the following priorities: Community Conditions improving financial stability, access to housing, and access to transportation. Healthy Living improving nutrition and physical activity.
While aging in place is preferred by the vast majority of adults and can bring a host of psychological and physical benefits, older adults require community support in order to age in place safely and with dignity.
