The California College Promise Grant (formerly known as the Board of Governors Fee Waiver) is a program that provides assistance to cover community college enrollment fees. To be eligible, you must be a California resident or AB 540 eligible and must qualify under one of the following conditions of award A, B or C.
The California Promise Grant, formerly Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOGW), waives the enrollment fees and tuition for eligible California residents attending California Community College. The CCPG Fee Waiver will waive your per-unit enrollment fee for the entire academic year if you apply and qualify.
If you cant afford the filing fee, you can ask the court for a fee waiver in order to file for free. With a fee waiver, you also may not have to pay for certified copies, sheriffs service of process fees, or other costs related to starting a case, such as the cost for a court reporter to be at your trial.
Ask your lawyer about getting any court fees waived (set aside or forgiven). If you do not have a lawyer, you can still call the local legal aid office to see if they can help you get any court fees waived or you can ask the judge to waive some or all of the court fees by filling out a form called a fee waiver request.
