Officer Candidate School (OCS) also known as Officer Training School (OTS) in the Air Force, or the Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Course (PLC) in the United States Marine Corps prepares recruits for the challenges of officer life, from managing others to understanding military culture and law.
The mission of Officer Candidates School (OCS) is to educate and train officer candidates in Marine Corps knowledge and skills within a controlled and challenging environment in order to evaluate and screen individuals for the leadership, moral, mental, and physical qualities required for commissioning as a Marine
Requirements to Join OCS Be between 19 and 32 years old. Be eligible for a secret security clearance. Have a bachelors degree by the time you commission as an Officer. Have no more than six years of active service for current military members.
OTS serves all Active Component and Reserve Component line officers except judge advocates.
OCS is a 6 month process that has a 70% acceptance rate. OTS is a 1-2 year process with a much lower acceptance rate. You cant do both at the same time because, by the time the AF recruiter sends you to MEPS, you will be shipping to BCT in the Army.

Officer Training School (OTS): Enlisted Airmen can also apply to attend OTS. To be eligible, Airmen must have a bachelors degree or be a senior at a college or university that is accredited by one of the six regional accreditation commissions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Physically OCS was way tougher than enlisted boot camp. Plus all the mental decisions you have to go through to make sure you have the leadership capabilities to lead Marines is challenging.
