Yes! Truck Driver Institute provides tuition assistance to members of the US military. In ance with the Post-9/11 GI Bill, military members who have served in active duty after September 10th, 2001 will receive financial assistance when completing their CDL training.
If your privilege to operate your personal vehicle is revoked, cancelled, or suspended due to alcohol, controlled substance or felony violations, you will lose your CDL for 1 year. If you are convicted of a second violation in your personal vehicle or CMV you will lose your CDL for life.
The only way to get a CDL A while in the army is typically hold an 88M slot. And then typically you have to have 3 years experience before your CO will sign a memo to take to your DMV. The best thing to do is use your GI Bill to pay for CDL school. You will get better ( smaller classes) training.
Use Your Military Benefits To Get a CDL While most aspiring drivers have to cover the expenses of CDL training themselves, eligible veterans have a unique opportunity to utilize the G.I. Bill* or other educational benefits to pay for their CDL training. DRC has several truck driving schools that accept the G.I. Bill.
This waiver allows a qualified service member to apply for a CDL without skills testing. CDL knowledge (written) test(s) cannot be waived.
