Agricultural, silvicultural, land clearing, pile and acreage burning all require a burning authorization from the Florida Forest Service. Burn Ban - OFF As of November 13, 2023, the Kendall County Commissioners have lifted the burn ban.
Recreational fires must be no larger than 3 feet in diameter, are limited to 1 cubic yard or less of burnable material, and must be located no less than 25 feet from any structure or combustible material, unless contained in an approved manner such as in a chiminea or outdoor fireplace.
During a burn ban, other than the above mentioned exception, the only thing that can be burned is household waste (no construction material), and that can only be burned if solid waste collection is not available.
