It shall be unlawful to have a fire except in designated fire pits, fire rings, and barbeque pits.
Call your local Florida Forest Service office and request an authorization to burn either after 4 p.m. on the day before the burn or on the day of the burn.
Agricultural, silvicultural, land clearing, pile and acreage burning all require a burning authorization from the Florida Forest Service. Authorization is not required to burn yard waste as long as you meet the required setbacks and there are no local, city or county ordinances in place that prohibit burning.
Any open burning in the City is not allowed unless it has been approved and a permit issued by the Fire Department. Trash/rubbish fires are prohibited at any time. This includes wiring, household waste, yard collections, construction debris, or other similar material.
The open burning must occur between the hours of 8:00 AM CST (9:00 AM EST) to one hour before sunset. The open burning must be enclosed in a noncombustible container or be in a pile no greater than eight feet in diameter.

Burn Ban - OFF As of November 13, 2023, the Kendall County Commissioners have lifted the burn ban.
Recreational fires must be no larger than 3 feet in diameter, are limited to 1 cubic yard or less of burnable material, and must be located no less than 25 feet from any structure or combustible material, unless contained in an approved manner such as in a chiminea or outdoor fireplace.
During a burn ban, other than the above mentioned exception, the only thing that can be burned is household waste (no construction material), and that can only be burned if solid waste collection is not available. Before you burn during a burn ban, you must call the fire marshals office to receive a burn permit.
