The National Association for Practical Nurse Education and Service, Inc. (NAPNES) is the national, 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization dedicated to improving the quality, education, practice and recognition of practical nursing schools and of licensed practical nurses and licensed vocational nurses in the U.S.
The objectives of the NALPN shall be to serve, to promote, to expand the visibility, and provide education to ensure growth and awareness of the LPN/LVN Profession.
A licensed practical nurse (LPN) is a nurse that provides basic patient care. LPNs work under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs), doctors and other providers. LPNs work with patients to give basic medical care. But theyre also a direct link between a patient, their family and their doctor and other providers.
An LPN MAY NOT: - Administer any medication (except saline and/or heparin flushes) by direct IV push. - Administer an IV fluid bolus for plasma volume expansion (except in Hemodialysis as defined in Department of Health Regulations [400.15]).
Founded in 1949, the National Federation of Licensed Professional Nurses (NFLPN) is the official voice of licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) in the United States. It provides leadership for nearly one million members and is the only organization governed entirely by LPNs and LVNs.
