A squash game is usually played to 11 points, best of five games, and the winner must win by 2 points if a games points score reach 10-all. In very basic terms, to win a point, your opponent must not get to the ball before it bounces a second time, or hit the ball out of play.
Each game is a race to 11 points. If two players/teams are tied at 10-points each, the first to build up a two-point lead wins the game.
This form of scoring is also known as the hand out scoring system, and used to be the most prevalent scoring system before the World Squash Federation changed the official system to PARS in 2008.
Either player may score points (PAR point-a-rally). The server, on winning a rally, scores a point and retains the service; the receiver, on winning a rally, scores a point and becomes the server. Points are awarded if, during the course of play: The receiver fails to strike the ball before it has bounced twice.
Point-a-Rally to 15 This system fell out of favor in 2004 when the Professional Squash Association (PSA) decided to switch to PARS to 11. Games were considered to last too long and the winner would usually be the fitter player, not necessarily the better player.

Over time, the squash sport continued to change, and these modifications increased its difficulty and excitement. The court size was decreased, and the game was standardized in the early 20th century. The game was speeded up and made more difficult by switching out the softball with a tougher, smaller ball.
Overall, the history of the squash racket reflects technological advances in materials and design, as well as changes in the game of squash itself. Each stage of development has aimed to improve player performance, by creating racquets that are lighter, stronger, and easier to control.
