The Terry Foundation, based in Houston, is the largest provider of private scholarships in the state of Texas, awarding funding to over 6,500 scholars statewide.
Applicants must demonstrate strong academic abilities, as evidenced by grades, rigor and class rank. (SAT and ACT test scores are not required for the incoming summer and fall 2025 class.) Applicants must have a record of leadership in school and in the community.
These students are selected from a highly competitive pool of incoming freshmen who have excelled in academics, demonstrated leadership and have financial need. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic abilities, as evidenced by grades, rigor and class rank.
An applicant must: Be enrolled for the entire academic year at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school in the U.S. Canada, Puerto Rico, or Guam. Show evidence of work experience or community service. Demonstrate financial need.
