For 2024, the NYSAWW is $1,718.15, which means the maximum weekly benefit is $1,151.16. This is $20.08 more than the maximum weekly benefit for 2023.
Form PFL-1 has sections that need to be completed by you and by your employer. Fill out your section. Make a copy and give the form to your employer. Your employer is required to return Form PFL-1 to you within three business days.
There is no waiting period once the employee meets eligibility requirements. Maximum length for DBL and PFL benefits cant exceed 26 weeks in any consecutive 52-week period.
Submit: Employees are responsible for submitting their requests directly to the insurer. Pay or Deny: The insurance carrier must pay or deny the employees request within 18 calendar days of receiving the completed request for Paid Family Leave, or the employees first day of leave, which ever is later.
