Duke Transfer Admission Requirements and Process Duke writes that the most successful applicants will have a minimum college GPA of 3.7 in a challenging academic program, and very helpfully provides the following academic profile of admitted transfers: GPA average = 3.90. Mid-50% range = 3.85 4.0.
Although the admissions rate varies year to year, Dukes Early Decision acceptance rate has historically been higher than its Regular Decision (RD) rate. In the past, the ED acceptance rate at Duke has ranged around 20-25%, while the RD acceptance rate has been approximately 5-8%.
Typically, Duke University releases Early Decision (ED) decisions in mid-December and Regular Decision (RD) decisions in late March. They usually release decisions around 7 PM Eastern Time.
To have the best shot of getting in, you should aim for the 75th percentile, with a 1570 SAT or a 35 ACT. You should also have a 4.2 GPA or higher. If your GPA is lower than this, you need to compensate with a higher SAT/ACT score.
Early Decision applications are due November 3. Regular Decision applications are due January 5.
