MUNI. MUNI (San Francisco Municipal Railway) operates San Franciscos buses, subways, streetcars, and historic cable cars. Undergraduate students have a semester pass for all SF Muni lines incorporated into their tuition.
Through the Gator Pass, all enrolled students ride on Muni free. Enrolled students also ride free on all Clipper base transit systems in the Bay Area (including BART from any station) during fall and spring semesters.
In San Francisco, riders 18 years and under can ride Muni for free all year long. Rides on all vehicles are free for youth, with no Clipper card or proof of payment required. There is one exception: On cable cars, a Free Muni for Youth Clipper card is required for riders from ages five to 18.
FARES. Children age 4 and under can ride Muni free of charge. For youth ages 5 to 18, visit the Youth Fare Discount or Free Muni for Youth pages.
Free Muni for All Youth Provides free access to Muni services for all youth, ages 18 years and under, regardless of income or residency. No application or proof of payment/Clipper card will be required to ride Muni vehicles with the exception of Cable Car.
