File this form in person at a CBP-designated Port-of-Entry or a CBP-designated preclearance office. It is recommended that you contact the CBP-designated Port-of-Entry or a CBP-designated preclearance office where you intend to be processed before submitting your application.
This 10-year bar is required regardless of whether you have an immediate relative who is a United States citizen. Once 10 years have passed since your date of last departure you may file Form I-212 to seek consent to reapply for admission to the United States.
If you are inadmissible under INA section 212(a)(9)(C)(i), you cannot file this application until you have left the United States and have remained outside the United States for at least 10 years since your last departure and before you seek admission to the United States.
