Until the late 1950s the area just west of Shingle Springs, now known as Cameron Park, remained relatively undeveloped, the land being primarily used for the raising of livestock. However, that did not mean that this area had not played a important part in the early history of El Dorado County.

El Dorado County Cameron Park / County
Cameron Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in El Dorado County, California, United States and is part of the Greater Sacramento Area. The population was 19,171 in the 2020 census, up from 18,228 in 2010.
Associated with the cliff is a folktale involving two star-crossed Native American lovers. As recounted by Decca Lamar West in her popular 1912 booklet The Legend of Lovers Leap, Waco Indian maiden Wah-Wah-Tee secretly accepted a marriage proposal from a handsome Apache brave despite the enmity between their tribes.
The town is beautiful, comfy, safe, enjoyable, and very family-friendly! The amenities are less plentiful in the area, but it is supposed to be more of a community-feel anyways. I enjoy living here and recommend it to anybody who is looking to move to the area! Growing up in Cameron Park was really wonderful!
