When you qualify through training, you can take part in Search and Rescue operations, stand radio watch at the Coast Guard Station, work with the Marine Safety Office on pollution matters or work in the Recruiting Office. Auxiliarists arent paid with money, but with satisfaction.
The Auxiliary is an organization of uniformed volunteers. Membership is open to any citizen of the U.S. and its territories and possessions who is seventeen years of age or older (no mandatory maximum age) and a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Association, Inc. (CGAuxA, Inc.).
