Become an IFSAC-certified firefighter through OFAs Full-Time NFPA Firefighter I II Program, delivered as an intense, hands-on, in-person set of courses within our training facility in Orangeville, Ontario.
Although becoming a volunteer firefighter is not a required step in becoming a full-time firefighter, it can increase your chances of landing a full-time position. Several departments look for around 3-5 years of experience before hiring someone full-time.
Sierra College is recognized by the California State Fire Marshal and the State Board of Fire Services as an Accredited Regional Training Program. The required 80% academic standard for the Firefighter 1 and 2 Academy is rigorous.
