A Type 2 Incident Management Team assumes management of a fire emergency. In the United States, there are predominantly five types of incident management teams (IMTs).

What is a Type 2 burn boss?

Prescribed Fire Burn Boss Type 2 (RXB2) They have demonstrated proficiency in the fuel type(s) they are burning. Typically a RXB2 would handle medium to large grassland, oak savanna and hardwood under story burns, small to medium slash and small pine under story burns.

What is a type 2 firefighter?

The Firing Boss leads ground and/or aerial ignition operations and coordinates with holding resources on prescribed fire and wildfire incidents. The FIRB supervises assigned firing resources and reports to a Burn Boss, Strike Team/Task Force Leader, or other assigned supervisor.

What is a Type 2 burn?

Second-degree burn, also called partial-thickness burn. This type of burn affects both the epidermis and the second layer of skin, which is called the dermis. It may cause swelling and red, white or splotchy skin. Blisters may develop, and pain can be terrible.
