Training at the academy began in 1998. The MDCC LETA provides areas of training for Basic (480 hours), Refresher (200 hours), in-service and advanced training. The 12-week Basic class is hosted on the MDCC main campus located on Highway 3, in Moorhead, Mississippi.
The North Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Center conducts three Full Time BLEOST certification courses a year, usually with start dates in January, April, and August. Tuition for the Full Time BLEOST Course is $4000 and the cost of the Refresher Course is $1500. The Skills Update Course is $300.
