To obtain a duplicate title, you must submit a completed Application for Duplicate Certificate of Title to any County Treasurers office. All person(s) whose name(s) appear on the face of the title must sign the completed application.
Titles may be issued in any county, for a list of offices refer to the Motor Vehicle Offices. To obtain a Certificate of Title you must submit a completed Application for Certificate of Title signed by all parties whose names are to appear on the title.
Nebraska requires a simple proof of identity and address and your drivers license will suffice. You will need proof of ownership of the vehicle and a completed application for a title. If you need help with how to fill out transfer of title form, you may contact your local Dept. of Motor Vehicle office.
Addition or deletion of name: present properly assigned Certificate of Title (all current and new owners must sign), a completed Application for Certificate of Title, and $10 fee to a county Motor Vehicle Office for issuance of a new title.
A Certificate of Title serves as proof of ownership; only one title is allowed to be issued and in existence at any one time for the same vehicle. Titles are issued on the county level. A Certificate of Title must be issued within 30 days of the date of purchase.
