Effective immediately, all visitors with non-REAL-ID drivers license and state issued identification cards requesting access to MCRD Parris Island must provide an approved identity source document or combination thereof to access the installation. FEDERAL PIV CARD (DHS, DEA, STATE DEPT, ETC.)
Vehicle/parking passes are not required for typical daily visitors of Parris Island, such as those coming for graduation and other related events. There is only one road on and off Parris Island, and having a vehicle pass wont make getting on base any faster.
Take exit 8 for US-278 E toward Beaufort/Hilton Head Island. Turn right onto US-278 E. Turn left onto Argent Blvd. Turn left onto SC-170 E/Okatie Hwy. Turn right onto SC-128/Savannah Hwy. Turn right onto Parris Island Gateway. The ramp to MCRD Parris Island will be on your right.
Visitors to MCRD Parris Island will provide one REAL ID or two other original forms of valid identification, for the purpose of identity proofing to receive base access. One form of ID must be from the list below.
To access MCRD Parris Island Base Federal I.D., state issued I.D., or drivers license. (Expired I.D.s will not be accepted.) Passport (Expired passports will not be accepted.) Vehicle registration (if renting, the car rental agreement will suffice) Proof of vehicle insurance.

Parris Island is home to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot for the Eastern Seaboard. The Island is open to the public for museum visits and guided tours of the base. Visitors to Parris Island are advised to check the website for a calendar of scheduled graduation days and related activities.
Parris Island is open to all visitors daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors who wish to come on base between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. must have a military sponsor on base (i.e. the person you wish to visit must notify the Military Police Officers at the gate of your arrival).
