What is the Structure of District Courts? There are 94 federal judicial districts. There is at least one district court in each state, and the District of Columbia. Each district includes a U.S. bankruptcy court as a unit of the district court.

The hierarchy of courts are as follows 1) Supreme Court, 2) High Courts, 3) District Courts (other courts are mostly considered as subsidiaries of these courts).

By statute, the Rhode Island Judiciary (Judiciary) is a unified court system for purposes of administration consisting of six (6) courts: the Supreme Court; the Superior Court; the Family Court; the District Court; the Workers Compensation Court; and the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal.
