Definition and Meaning of the Pinewood Derby Check-In Sheet

The pinewood derby check-in sheet is a formal document used during pinewood derby events to ensure that each car complies with the established rules and specifications. This document includes various sections such as car dimensions, weight measurements, wheel shape, and secure attachment of parts. It is crucial for maintaining fairness and safety during the event by verifying that all participants adhere to the same standards.

Components of the Check-In Process

• Car Dimensions: Verification of the car's length, width, and height to ensure compliance with official rules.
• Weight Check: Each car is weighed to confirm it does not exceed the maximum weight limit, often five ounces.
• Wheel and Axle Inspection: Examination of wheel shape and attachment to ensure they are within allowed specifications.
• Part Security: Ensures all parts of the derby car are securely attached and will not come apart during the race.

Step-by-Step Use
