The college has one release form maintained through the Registrars office that allows a student to designate a third party to be given information about the students educational records. Access can be limited to certain documents or types of records.
All official transcripts must be requested online. All students who have attended Cabrillo College since 1982 (to present) must contact National Student Clearinghouse place a transcript order electronically. You may also use our lobby computers to place an order.
Good Academic Standing is defined as maintaining a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and completing at least 50% of attempted units. If you are out of good standing your registration date will be adjusted to a later date or may be blocked.
FERPA serves a two-fold purpose: (1) to grant parents (and students 18 or older) access to information in the students education record, and (2) to protect that information from disclosure to third parties without parental consent.
If you dont waive the FERPA, colleges may be skeptical about the authenticity of your college recommendations.
