The McNair Scholars program is a highly-selective research and graduate school preparatory program.

How much do McNair scholars get paid?

No. The program expects scholars to apply to both Masters and PhD programs during their senior year as an undergraduate student. Scholars, however, do not have to participate in any graduate program immediately following their completion of their bachelors degree.

Is McNair prestigious?

As a McNair Scholar, you will be part of a highly-prestigious program known for academic excellence. Receive financial support. McNair Scholars receive stipends during the Summer Research Fellowship.

How competitive is the McNair Scholars program?

Graduate admission committees generally look for doctoral applicants to have a minimum GPA of 2.8. Admission to the McNair Scholars Program is competitive, but applicants are encouraged to contact the McNair staff to discuss special circumstances.
