Most titles, documents or plans can be ordered through the Alberta Registries Spatial Information System (SPIN2), Alberta Registry for Land Online (ARLO) or through a registry agent. You can also search for a title by name.
Fees in Alberta are based on the property value and mortgage amount, broken into increments of $5,000. The formula is straightforward: Base fee: $50. Additional fee: $5 for every $5,000 (or portion thereof) of the property value or mortgage amount.
Since all registrations at the Alberta Land Titles Office are public records, anyone is permitted to complete a Land Titles search on anyone elses property. For just the land titles search, we charge $75. To do this, we require the legal description.
The actual registration process can take a day or two or a few weeks depending on the Land Title Office. Usually the transfer of land process takes 3-7 days (but in past years took as long as 3 months) but we can let you know how long Alberta Land Titles is taking when you come in.
