  8. Log into your AKO account after 7-14 days to check for updates on your medical profile.

The guidance for profiles is located in Army Regulation 40-501, Chapter 7, AR 600-20, AR 600-8-101, and Command Policy letter, MEDCEN-01. The goal of a profile is to provide the commander an understanding of what a Soldier can do while going through physiological rehabilitation.
After a profile is signed and approved, a Soldier can print a copy of their profile from the My Medical Readiness page in AKO. Step by step instructions are included below. Logon to AKO: 1. Click on the My Medical Readiness Status on the right side of your AKO homepage.
Initial Consultation: Visit a base medical clinic for an evaluation of the condition, such as PFB. Approval Process: Submit the recommendation for a shaving waiver to your commanding officer. Typically, the waiver limits facial hair to 1/4 inch.
Who Can Request to See a Soldiers Medical Profile? BLUF: Commanders and Designated Representative should be the only personnel viewing Soldiers profiles through the Commanders Portal. USARPAC Policy memo signed by CG, dated 10 July 2024.
Being on profile is a term which means that the Servicemember has some medical limitations on what he can/cannot do.
