Processing the Referral Once your decides on the referral, the paperwork begins. But how long does a referral take to process? Typically, it can take anywhere from a few days to a week for your referral to be processed.
The allocated Social worker and/or manager are expected to make contact with you directly on receipt of your information. Any other referrals will be dealt with by MASH initially. The MASH will decide upon and record their next steps of action within one working day of receiving a referral.
Once we get a MASH referral we assess the information and aim to make a decision about how to proceed within 24 hours. Well discuss the information with any other involved partners to see how we can best help to meet the needs of children and their families.
The social worker recommends what further action should be taken. The screening manager reviews the MASH record and then makes a decision at this stage as to the most appropriate action to take in relation to that referral.
The Local Offer The Coventry Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Local Offer brings together health information for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and their families. This includes physical therapies, mental health support and paediatric support.
