A snow parking ban eliminates obstacles that hinder the ability of City plows to efficiently and completely clear streets of snow. When crews are able to fully plow the streets, traffic and emergency vehicles can move safely and easily throughout the City.
Snow and ice must be cleared from sidewalks within specific timeframes: Snowfall ends between 7:00 AM and 4:59 PM - Clear within 4 hours. Snowfall ends between 5:00 PM and 8:59 PM - Clear within 14 hours. Snowfall ends between 9:00 PM and 6:59 AM - Clear sidewalks by 11:00 AM.
Snow emergencies are declared due to substantial accumulation and/or icy conditions. The purpose of the snow emergency is to promote an environment where Township snow removal crews can better remove snow and ice between the curbs and public streets (curb to curb).
Each and every owner or occupant of a home, building or lot of land in the Town and along which there is a sidewalk shall keep the sidewalk free from snow and ice and shall remove or cause to be removed any and all snow from such sidewalk within four hours after any fall of snow occurring between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00
