Form V112 will exempt vehicles of historic interest (VHI) from further MoT tests. You do not need to get an MOT if: the vehicle was built or first registered more than 40 years ago. no 'substantial changes' have been made to the vehicle in the last 30 years, for example replacing the chassis, body, axles or engine to change the way the vehicle works.
That's why, thanks in part to the campaigning by the FBHVC, the rolling exemption has been reinstated. The UK had a 25-year rolling tax exemption in place for classic vehicles in the past but this was abolished in 1997 by the incoming Labour government.
