DFSS Homeless Outreach and Prevention (HOP) team and our delegate agencies work to engage unsheltered homeless residents living near railroad tracks, bridges, the Chicago River, viaducts and alleys, Chicago Parks and CTA train stations into services that will lead to housing or shelter.
The Chicago Coalition to End Homeless (CCH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that advocates to prevent and end homelessness in Cook County, Illinois. They do this by organizing various outreach programs, reentry projects, housing campaigns, and releasing yearly homelessness data to the public.
For eligible UMD students, who are state of Maryland residents, the Homeless Youth Tuition Waiver covers the cost of tuition and mandatory academic fees. This includes all fees from credit-bearing and non-credit courses but does not include room, board, books or transportation costs.
The Department of Finance is responsible for revenue collection, utility billing, tax and parking enforcement, administering employee payroll, benefits and safety; risk management and accounting and financial reporting.
