The Honor Guard is a selectively manned unit with 212 ceremonial guardsmen and support personnel assigned. It is made up of three ceremonial flights, each with the primary color guard, body bearers and firing party qualifications. The Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team is the traveling performance and exhibition unit.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Open to all Infantry Private through Staff Sergeant. Minimum of 73 inches tall. Able to achieve 70% or higher on the APFT (with a minimum 250 cumulative score) Minimum of 18 months remaining in The Old Guard. No previous adverse action.
The attached motto, To Honor With Dignity best describes the units mission. The emblem is the centerpiece of the Air Force Honor Guard Badge, duty badges, that are worn by USAF HG personnel as well as Base Honor Guard members with slight differences between the two.
