1 hour per week. Infusion time may be shorter or longer depending on the dose and frequency your doctor has prescribed for you. You and your neurologist can create your Hizentra dosing schedule based on: Your routine.
With proper training, most patients can self-infuse Hizentra or receive assistance from a caregiver. For CIDP, Hizentra is infused weekly. For PI, Hizentra may be infused daily or up to every 2 weeks. Talk with your healthcare provider about the dosing option thats right for you.
Recommended infusion sites Abdomen. Thighs. Upper arms. Sides of upper legs or hips.
IVIg patients may also eventually transition to self-administer the treatment subcutaneously at home after training with a nurse. It may take approximately three hours to complete the IVIg infusion therapy with treatment intervals ranging between days and weeks as determined by your doctor.
Hizentra should be administered subcutaneously (SC) only. Do not administer intravenously. Hizentra can be dosed daily up to every 2 weeks for PI using an infusion pump and relatively small needle(s).
