Conditional eligibility provides paratransit service on some, but not all, trips. A rider is granted conditional eligibility when they may reasonably be expected to make some trips on the fixed-route service independently, but not all trips. Not all paratransit riders require paratransit service for every trip.
OmniAccess is a curb-to-curb, shared-ride paratransit service for certified individuals with disabilities that prevents them from using the regular Omnitrans bus system.
Various disabilities may qualify an individual for paratransit services. These can include the following. Physical Impairments: Conditions affecting mobility, such as wheelchair use or severe arthritis. Cognitive Disabilities: Impairments that make it challenging to understand or follow transit routes.
Who Is Protected Under the ADA? The ADA protects qualified individuals with disabilities. An individual with a disability is a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits major life activities; has a record of such an impairment; or is regarded as having such an impairment.
Example: You use a wheelchair but the nearest bus stop is separated from you by stairs. You are eligible for paratransit because you cannot docHub the bus stop. Reminder: Even if you are eligible for paratransit, you do not have to ride paratransit for all trips.

Examples of individuals who would qualify under this category include those with intellectual, cognitive, vision, or psychiatric disabilities who cannot independently navigate the fixed route system for some or all of their trips. OmniAccess Service is an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) mandated shared ride service that is available to qualified applicants whose physical or cognitive limitations prevent them from using regular Omnitrans fixed route service in San Bernardino County for all or some of their trips.
