Its important to remember that when colleges review your grades, they will not simply look at your report card. They will review your transcript. Your transcript has a great deal more information than a simple report card and provides a much better snapshot of your high school career to the admissions officers.
Colleges and universities typically provide two types of academic transcriptsofficial and unofficial. Official transcripts are held by the registrars office and are available either electronically or in print.
For any further questions, please contact the registration office at transcripts@wvc.edu or 509-682-6806.
To request an academic transcript, submit an online form. Find out more on our academic transcripts page. To request a testamur, complete the Application for a replacement testamur (doc, 118KB) and attach a digital (scanned) copy to the Graduation support form. Find out more on our degree certificate (testamur) page.
How to View Transcripts. Current students may view their unofficial transcripts within STAR after logging into the WVU Portal. Click on Student Services and Housing, then Student Records, and then Academic Transcript. Please note this unofficial transcript is not available while grades are being processed.

Student records are private records but students cannot use federal law to sue a university that releases their private records to the public. Federal law requires colleges and universities to keep much information about students confidential unless the student gives explicit permission to release it.
How Long Do Colleges Keep Transcripts? College transcripts do not expire and schools are obligated to maintain transcripts for all students who have enrolled in and attended their institution regardless of whether or not that student graduated.
You can likely view your unofficial transcript on your colleges website, or request it from the registrar at your school.
