Effective 12/31/16, PennDOT No Longer Issues Vehicle Registration Stickers. Why did PennDOT stop issuing registration stickers? Elimination of registration stickers resulted in a docHub cost savings for taxpayers. Act 89, which became law November 2013, provided for the elimination of vehicle registration stickers
Cars with Antique License plates that are over 25 years old are exempt from emissions testing. No sticker will be affixed to the windshield for this exemption. However, if the car has a regular license plate and is a 1975 or newer vehicle, it would be required to have an emissions inspection.
Overview. Renewing your vehicle and/or trailer registration can, in most cases, be completed online, at any of PennDOTs Online Messenger services or through the mail. Mailing instructions can be found on the back of the applicable forms.
In the state of Pennsylvania, all vehicles registered in the state are required to show a valid safety inspection sticker issued by an authorized inspection station.
There is no new law that removes inspections. You must get vehicles inspected in Pa.
