In response to Americas growing drug problem, Congress passed the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), Title II of the Com prehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970. It replaced more than 50 pieces of drug legislation, went into effect on May 1, 1971, and was enforced by BNDD, DEAs predecessor agency.

Does Missouri require a state-controlled license number?
All licensed entities in Missouri who want to conduct any activities with controlled substances, including purchasing, stocking, ordering, prescribing and administering, must first obtain a state controlled substances registration.
