A 1st offense OWI in Iowa requires a 48-hour jail stay. The 1st offense jail diversion program is offered at a facility where the offender is under house arrest for the 48-hour requirement. This program incorporates the 12-hour program and satisfies the jail requirement for the 1st offense OWI.
Maintain a 2.00 grade point average on all work applicable for the diploma. Earn at DMACC a minimum of 1/3 of the semester credit hours applicable to the degree being pursued. Complete all required courses in a particular program of study. (Minimum of 30 semester credit hours.)
Iowa does not accept online drinking driver courses. There is a $37.50 processing fee if you take the drinking driver course outside of Iowa. This fee is not required if you take the course in Iowa.
