It is a time to celebrate the connections and friendships made during recruitment. During Bid Day celebrations, some organizations will plan activities for new members and initiated members to get to know one another. This is a great time to introduce yourself to your new chapter members and get to know them.
The Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement (MRABA) is what potential new members agree to when they are making their selections during the last round of recruitment.
MRABA is just an acronym for “Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement.” At its core level, the MRABA is just that – a binding agreement. The agreement must be signed at the completion of recruitment in order for a potential member to receive a bid of membership from a sorority.
While 24 to 48 hours is the standard observed by many professionals in the industry, exceptions happen.
If you do not end up with a bid, your recruitment counselor will call you the morning of Bid Day and will let you know that you did not receive a bid. And if this happens to you, it's ok to be upset and feel discouraged. It is very painful to go through a week's worth of recruitment only to come out empty handed.
