A student must achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better to graduate. Students whose cumulative GPA falls below a 3.0 will be placed on academic probation.

What is pass or fail NYU?
May I take a course pass/fail? Any elective course may be graded pass/fail. You are limited to one pass/fail course every semester, which is a maximum of 32 credits over four years. In practice, it is inadvisable to take too many pass/fail courses.
Is 70.8 a passing grade?
The normal grading range is from 55 to 100. The number grades correspond to letter grades as reflected in the chart below. The minimum passing grade is 70 (C). Any grades between 55 and 69 (D and F) are considered failing grades for which unit credit is not earned.
The only way a pass/fail class will affect your GPA is if you get an F. Heres how it works: If you receive any grade of D- or above, youll earn credit hours and a grade of P (pass) will appear on your transcript. There is no impact on your GPA.
