The drive up is nice because you can look at all the houses. The walk from the parking lot isn't super steep and is definitely worth it. Around the cross is plaques of soldiers from numerous wars and it was really cool to read some of them and see the memorial they have up there. It's free and it's awesome.

Visitors are invited to walk along the 11 walls and view the individual veterans plaques and climb the brick steps up to the cross for one of the city's most magnificent views. There are a few parking spaces surrounding the Memorial and portable restroom facilities are located adjacent to the Memorial.
