Off base housing is available for employees who cannot or choose not to reside in on-base housing. Rental costs vary, but generally are very expensive. US Naval Advance Base Saipan was constructed by the Seabees Naval Mobile Construction Battalions. The base was under the Commander Naval Forces Marianas.
