Texas Workforce Commission ( TWC ) is the state agency charged with overseeing and providing workforce development services to employers and job seekers of Texas. TWC strengthens the Texas economy by providing the workforce development component of the Governors economic development strategy.
TWC regulates and licenses career schools in Texas, however our Career Schools and Colleges department does not provide financial aid assistance.
About Texas Workforce TWC is the state agency charged with overseeing and providing workforce development services such as job matching, recruiting and training to Texas job seekers and employers. TWC also administers the Unemployment Benefits and Unemployment Tax programs.
The state of Texas is ending its participation in federal pandemic unemployment benefit programs early and the final week that the TWC will pay federal pandemic unemployment benefits is the week of June 26th, 2021.
It takes about four weeks from the date you apply for benefits to know if you are eligible for benefits. We use this time to gather information on your past wages, job separation, and general eligibility.
