To qualify for the American Legions Post Excellence Award, a post is required to achieve excellence in four areas: membership, submission of the Consolidated Post Report (CPR), attaining a 90% renewal rate, and community activity.
Presented to a cadet in the top 10 percent of his or her academic class and the top 25 percent of the ROTC class who has demonstrated qualities of leadership and actively participated in campus student activities.
The American Legion will present the Spirit of Service award to an enlisted member from each branch who has selflessly distinguished themselves above and beyond their regular duties, predominantly through community service activities and professional achievement.
American Legion Awards. These awards are provided annually to outstanding Cadets at each institution for general military excellence and scholastic excellence. The award consists of: Silver medal pendant with ribbon bar and ROTC crest or scholastic scroll for junior class winners enrolled in MS III.
General Military Excellence Award. The Cadet must: Be in the top 25% of his/ her class in JROTC and non-JROTC subjects. Have demonstrated outstanding qualities in military leadership, discipline, character, and citizenship.
