How do I become an Ohio licensed pesticide applicator? Submit Private Applicator application. Pay $30 license fee. Take and pass Core and Category exams.
The Ohio permit test (also known as the temps test) consists of 40 questions, and you must answer at least 30 questions correctly to get a passing score (75%).
Each exam has between 25 and 150 questions, depending on the category. You must pass both the core exam and at least one category exam in order to become licensed. If you do not pass an exam, you may retake it without additional cost for one year. Exams can be taken as many times as needed in order to pass.
Federal law and regulations require any person who applies or supervises the use of restricted use pesticides (RUPs) be certified as a private or commercial applicator.
The knowledge test is 40 multiple-choice questions about motor vehicle regulations and traffic signs.
