to install ENC permits open the menu and choose maintenance if necessary change the chart database to ENC from the drop-down menu and select update from the mode drop-down menu now click on the triangle to open the functions tab in the functions tab select from the functions drop-down menu the install and update permit database option now select the appropriate drive from the source drop-down menu for instance a USB flash drive then click browse locate and select the permit dot txt file for installation when ready click select data set a chart update wizard window will then be displayed confirming the ENC permits have been found select the install and update permit database option and then click continue the permits will then install when complete a confirmation message and summary will appear in the ENC protocol window the ENC protocol window can now be closed you
