Store Vertically The best way to store backdrop rolls is vertically. This position ensures that the roll will not weigh itself down over time, misshaping the inner cardboard core and causing waves in the material, particularly for the heavier, extra-wide rolls.
Once the appropriate amount of paper has been unrolled, use a clamp on each end to keep the paper from unrolling any further. Using a few strips of gaffers tape, secure the edges of the paper to the floor. This will prevent the edges from curling up, and it will also keep the paper from sliding on the floor.
Use Clamps to Hold the Paper in Place You will need to use a few pony clamps or A-Clamps to secure your paper background to the stand. Because of the weight of the roll, it may start to unravel further than you need if it is not secured. Secure a clamp to the top of both ends of a roll to keep it in place and secure.
Place an A-Clamp on one side of a roll of background paper to keep it from unwinding. A-Clamps are available at Home Depot, Lowes hardware stores in 3 sizes: mini, 1-inch 2-inch.

Seamless paper backdrops are large non-reflective rolls of paper that fit on a stand behind your subject. They can be plain or coloured, and give a smooth, professional look to your photographs. Seamless paper is often used in portraits, headshots or baby photography, as the colours can be changed to suit your subject.
Gaffer tape is an essential piece of gear for any photographer, but it comes in handy when using paper backgrounds as well. If you plan to sweep your seamless out onto the floor for full-body model portraits, we recommend taping down the end of the paper to the ground to ensure it stays flat and does not roll up.
