Tally and divide: To calculate your GPA, add the points for all courses taken and divide by the total number of semester hours.
Credit Hours for an individual course are calculated by adding together the lecture hours (LEC) plus one-half (0.5) of the laboratory hours (Lab). Total Credit Hours for your academic program are calculated by adding together the Credit Hours for each and every credit attempt listed on your transcript.
Divide the quality hours earned by your attempted credits. The attempted credits number is usually to the left of the quality hours earned number. If, for example, you attempted 12 credits in one semester, and earned 48 quality hours, youd divide 48 by 12 to get 4. Your semester GPA is therefore a 4.0.
The attempted credits number is usually to the left of the quality hours earned number. If, for example, you attempted 12 credits in one semester, and earned 48 quality hours, youd divide 48 by 12 to get 4.
To calculate your GPA, divide the total number of grade points earned by the total number of letter graded units undertaken.
Multiply the grade value of the course by the units attempted for that course. The product of this multiplication will be the grade points. Divide the cumulative grade points by the cumulative units attempted.
To calculate your current letter grade, divide the points earned by the points possible. Using the example, 380 divided by 536 equals 0.71. To turn this into a percentage multiply the answer by 100 or move the decimal point over two places. This equals 71 or 71%.
Add the quality points for all major courses. Divide by the number of credits for all major and truncate the figure at two places past the decimal point (i.e. do not round the result).
You cant remove something from the record. If you can demonstrate inappropriate grading, you could potentially get the grade changed (at an American college or university). There is indeed a permanent record, and you cant do much. People with failing grades (in limited number) have gone on to do great things.
Add up the number of grade points for every class on your transcript. Add up the number of all the credit hours you attempted. Count all credit hours that were given a grade, regardless of the grade. Divide the total number of grade points by the total number of credit hours to determine your cumulative GPA.
